An academic delegation consisting of representatives of various scientific institutions from Russia visited Imam Sadiq University on February 26.In the scientific session with the topic of "Prospects of relations between Iran and Russia; Opportunities and Challenges" that was held in the presence of the Russian delegation, university officials and students, while welcoming the guests, the vice president of research and the general manager of public relations of the university introduced Imam Sadiq University (A.S) and its scientific mission. Future Scientific sessions between the academic communities of Russia and ISU were also welcomed by University officials.
Each of the Russian guests then introduced the academic centres and universities they represented and emphasised issues such as the importance of academic relations between Iran and Russia, learning Russian and Farsi languages for each of the two sides and opening dialogue projects between Iranian and Russian youth.
The delegation also announced its readiness for signing joint memorandums, holding joint specialized sessions, writing scientific articles, publishing joint books, holding summer schools and awarding research grants.
Following the session, Dr RooholAmin Saeedi, member of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Political Sciences, while referring to the ongoing changes in the international system and the existence of a common view between the two sides, emphasized the importance of theorizing in this field, considering the decline of the Western perspective and the existence of the opportunity to propose new theories with an Islamic-Iranian or even Russian perspective. Then, Dr Mohammad Hassan Khani, faculty member, stated the existence of common issues between the parties and underlined the need for both parties to find common solutions and emphasized the need for bilateral cooperation.
Finally, a Q&A session was held between the students and the Russian delegation. The visit of the Russian guests to the student exhibition of local and ethnic products was the end of this visit to Imam Sadiq (A.S) University.
This program was held in cooperation with the Eurasian studies centre of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Political Sciences and the English Student Association of Imam Sadiq (A.S) University.
